Did you know that if you googled "I love Alastair Campbell" you used to get absolutely no returns? That can’t be right, the world must be full of women like me who find him totally irresistible despite (or because of) all the Beeb-bashing, bollocking, Blackberry fumbling and that small matter of him working for the Evil Troll Tony. The sexiest spin-doctor the world has ever known just didn’t have a site dedicated to him, and I'm proud to change that.
Alastair Campbell is the 21st Century Bothwell: two Scotsmen, both unstintingly loyal to their leader, both considered brash and thuggish, both stuffed by a death they weren't as involved in as people make out, both screwed by propaganda and both absolutely bloody gorgeous. It's as fine an argument for re-incarnation as I'm ever likely to hear.
I should point out (for fear of incurring the wrath of the Beloved One) that this is all unofficial stuff, and quotes etc are taken from scumbag newspaper clippings that I somehow seem to have amassed. It's not like I have a scrapbook dedicated to him or anything like that, oh no, not me. I'm far too busy stalking Michael Palin.
And to cut off the loonies *before* they get writing: this is a fan page, and as such I am blatantly going to defend the Beloved One, even though I am gutted at what he and the Evil Troll have done to the Labour Party, I protested against the war, I Leurve the BBC, and I'm unlikely ever to vote New Labour (read Old Tory) ever again.
